Dear members of the Pakistan Association of Otago,

On behalf of the association, I would like to extend my warmest greetings to you all. Our association is dedicated to promoting the interests and well-being of the Pakistani community in Otago, and we are committed to providing a platform for our members to connect, engage, and grow.

I encourage all members to get involved in the association’s activities and initiatives. We offer a range of events and programs throughout the year, from cultural celebrations and social gatherings to educational seminars and community outreach programs. By participating in these activities, you can not only connect with other members of the community but also contribute to our collective growth and success.

I also want to take this opportunity to thank our members, volunteers, and supporters for their dedication and commitment to the association. Your contributions have been instrumental in shaping the association and making it the vibrant and dynamic community that it is today.

Ms. Humara Fiaz is a respected business leader and entrepreneur who recently joined the Pakistan Association of Otago as Vice President. As the Head of the Business Wing, she has successfully transformed the association into a dynamic and forward-looking community organization in a short period.

Humara has a strong educational background, including a Master’s Degree in Political Science and English from the University of Punjab, Lahore Campus, a TESL Diploma from the College of Education Ontario (Canada), and an NZ Diploma in Business (Leadership and Management) from New Zealand. She has held various leadership positions throughout her career, including serving as Principal at TPS in Pakistan and working as a Lecturer in Taibah University and NESCOT (Northeast Surrey College of Technology – UK) Jeddah campus for eight years.

After moving to New Zealand, Humara pursued her dream of becoming an entrepreneur and started her own Beauty Clinic in South City Mall, Dunedin, which has since expanded to two branches in Auckland and Balclutha. She currently leads a team of eight staff members and has a vision of expanding her business to other regions of New Zealand.

Humara’s passion for empowering and helping people, especially in education and entrepreneurship, makes her an ideal leader to build lasting partnerships with government bodies, public and private sectors, explore trade and business opportunities, and expand the trade volume between Pakistan, New Zealand, and the APAC regions.

The Pakistan Association of Otago is dedicated to promoting cultural, social, and economic ties between Pakistan and New Zealand. Meet Tooba Junaid, a dynamic and accomplished Commercial Analyst at Orion, with a proven track record of success in the energy sector. Tooba’s commitment to community leadership is reflected in her passion for connecting people and helping communities thrive. Her advocacy for women’s leadership and progress in both professional and community governance settings has made her a prominent figure in her community.

Tooba’s remarkable contributions extend far beyond her professional accomplishments. Her keen sense of social justice has led her to champion equal rights for all members of her community, regardless of their social or financial standing. Her unwavering commitment to fair treatment and inclusivity has earned her the respect and admiration of her peers, and her dedication to community building has brought people together in various regions in New Zealand and beyond.

As a community leader and accomplished professional, Tooba’s vision and leadership have the power to inspire others to create positive change in their own lives and communities. Whether through her advocacy for women’s leadership, her commitment to community building, or her dedication to social justice, Tooba is a true role model and an asset to any community or organization fortunate enough to work with her.



Mr Habib Ullah is a passionate professional who specializes in the study and management of agriculture and agricultural systems. He has MSc (Hons.) degree in Agriculture (Horticulture) with extensive practical experience working in worlds’ best Multi-National Organisations like Syngenta and Bayer (Pvt.) Limited.

Habib possesses excellent knowledge of crops, livestock, soil science, and environmental management, gained through formal education and hands-on experience. He has a strong understanding of the economic and social implications of agriculture and the impact of agricultural practices on the environment. He is an expert in farm management techniques, including irrigation, crop rotation & crop protection, fertilization, and pest management. He is  adept at analyzing soil quality and developing optimal planting strategies to maximize crop yields and minimize environmental impact.

In addition to fieldwork, Habib has also been  involved in sales & marketing, research, policy formulation, and advocacy initiatives promoting sustainable agriculture practice. He is  often called upon to provide expert testimony on issues related to agriculture, food security, and the environment.

Habib started working as a volunteer with Pakistan Association of Otago and worked his way up to becoming a joint secretary. During this time, he gained the skills necessary to fulfil a leadership role, such as strong organizational skills, the ability to work collaboratively, and excellent communication skills.

As joint secretary, Habib works closely with the President and other board members to ensure the smooth functioning of the organization. His responsibilities include assisting in the management of day-to-day operations, organizing meetings and events, maintaining records, communicating with stakeholders, drafting reports, assisting in fundraising efforts, and collaborating with other members to develop and implement strategies.



Maimoona Saboor is a dedicated community-focused professional with a Bachelor of Commerce and is pursuing a part time diploma in business with a major in accounting from Otago Polytechnic. She possesses excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as strong organisational and problem-solving abilities.

Maimoona has gained valuable administrative, customer service, and business communication experience while working at Hums Beauty Clinic and Te Maioha Childcare Center in Dunedin. However, her passion lies in community service, which is reflected in her current role as a treasurer for the Pakistan Association of Otago in Dunedin. As a volunteer, Maimoona is committed to implementing financial strategies that help the organization achieve its mission and values. She is dedicated to maintaining control of the association’s financial targets and ensuring that the community benefits from the organization’s initiatives.

Moreover, Maimoona is actively involved with a non-profit NGO to advocate for human rights, democracy and social justice. Her commitment to community development and dedication make her an outstanding candidate for any professional setting that requires a community-focused mindset.
